Lessons Learned from Schneider Electric’s Industrial Transformation
Schneider Electric may be a leading provider of electrical infrastructure and industrial automation systems, but the global manufacturer also must manage and optimize the performance of more than 200 factories in 44 countries around the world. And one by one, it’s transformation them into world-class facilities. For example, its facility in Batam, Indonesia, was recently recognized by the World Economic Forum as a Lighthouse of the Fourth Industrial Revolution, with WEF citing among its other accomplishments a 44% reduction in downtime in the course of a single year. Carsten Baumann discusses how Batam and other Schneider sites are deploying a wide range of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) technologies to create an empowered workforce that has visibility into operations, maintenance and energy use.
